Windows 10 has an integration with OneDrive. In File Explorer on Windows 10, you will see an OneDrive folder on the left panel. You can use it to access your OneDrive data on desktop. However, not all Windows 10 users are OneDrive users. Also, not all Windows 10 users who also use OneDrive love this integration feature. If you want, you can remove OneDrive from File Explorer in Windows 10.
There are several methods to remove OneDrive from File Explorer in Windows 10, depending on the Windows 10 edition you use. If you use Windows 10 Home edition, you can remove OneDrive just like when you are uninstalling other apps. You can can do so by going to Settings -> Apps -> Apps & features.
If you use Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise, or Education, you need to take a bit further step to remove OneDrive from File Explorer in Windows 10. You need to edit the Registry.
Removing OneDrive from File Explorer in Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise and Education.
If you use Windows 10 Professional, Enterprise or Education edition and really want to remove OneDrive from File Explorer, you need to edit the Registry. Before doing so, I recommend you to backup the Registry first just in case everything is not going the way it supposed be.
Launch Run (Windows key+R) and type “regedit” to open Registry.
On the Registry window, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}.
On the right panel, double click on the System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree key. On the appearing pop-up dialog, change the value to 0 and click the OK button.
Now, please return to File Explorer and see what’s happen. If you still see OneDrive over there, try to restart your computer to apply the change.
If someday you decide to use OneDrive and want it to get back on File Explorer, simply repeat the steps above and restore the value of System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree key to 1.
