As briefly covered above, Cacoo is an online diagramming tool that you can use to create a diagram from anywhere, no matter the operating system you use. As long as you have an internet connection, you can work with this tool. To create a diagram with Cacoo, you don’t have to always start from scratch since Cacoo offers plenty of premade templates. Cacoo comes with a desktop app style to expedite your transition process in case you want to make a switch from a desktop diagramming tool like Visio. Speaking of Visio, Cacoo is also compatible with Microsoft’s diagramming software. You can use Cacoo to open as well as edit both VSD and VDX files. Here are the key features of Cacoo.

2. Lucidchart

Lucidchart is also a great online diagramming tool to work collaboratively with your teammates. Lucidchart is a freemium diagramming tool. You need to upgrade to the premium version to add a team member. Lucidchart itself is a popular enough online diagramming tool. According to a brief intro on its site, there are over 15 million users using this tool. From individuals to corporates like Adobe, Amazon, Red Hat, and Google. Lucidchart also has a desktop app-like interface. It has a menu bar as well as a toolbar to make it easier for you to access the tools.

One of the features offered by Lucidchart that we love about is the file manager. Other online diagramming tools might also have a file manager, but the file manager of Lucidchart is something else for us. Lucidchart also has compatibility with Visio. Gliffy is a great online diagramming tool for both individual and team. There are three plans offered by Gliffy: Personal, Team, Enterprise. The ability to add a team member is available on the Team and Enterprise plans. Gliffy gives you a 14-day trial period to allow you figuring out if it suits your needs. The interface of Gliffy is also similar to desktop-based tools in which it has a menu bar as well as a toolbar. 4. Creately

Creately has a modern interface, with a great file manager as well. One of the things we love about Creately is that it allows you to customize the shapes. By default, Creately provides about 6 shape categories. If you need more, you can add ones by clicking the Browse more libraries button on the bottom of the left panel. Creately is a type of diagramming tool that you can use to create nearly all types of diagrams. Name a diagram type you know and you can create it using this tool.

Creately has neither menu bar nor toolbar. Your work will automatically be saved to the file manager. If you want to export your work in an editable format, Creately offers SVG. Creately itself is available in three versions: online, desktop, and mobile. The online version offers three plans: Public, Personal, and Team. You need to at least use the Personal plan to add a team member. This plan allows you to add up to 5 team members, costing $5 per month.
