Just like other spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel and LibreOffice Calc, WPS Spreadsheets also comes with a feature that allows you to create a wide range of charts, including a pie chart. This is great if you want to create a pie chart from a certain data in your spreadsheet file.
In case you are new to WPS Spreadsheets, this article will show you how to create a pie chart in WPS Spreadsheets. First off, prepare the data you want to create a pie chart of. Once the data is ready, highlight the data range you want to turn into a pie chart.

Once the data range is highlighted, go to the Insert tab on the menu bar and click the pie chart icon. Select a chart type you want to use, pie chart in this case.

Your data will be automatically turned into a pie chart.
Customizing the chart
To customize your pie chart, you can click the chart area to turn it into an editing mode. Once the chart is on the editing mode, you can customize it such as editing the title, set the position of the legend, disable/enable the data labels, and so on.
- Editing the title
To edit the title of your chart, you can simply double-click the title and replace it with your preferred title. To hide the title, you can click the chart icon on the right side and untick the Chart Title option.

To open more customization options, hover your mouse over Chart Title and click the arrow icon. Select More Options.

The formating panel will appear on the right side. You can set the background color of the title as well as adding an effect. To change the font and the text color, you can highlight the title to open the text controller.
- Editing the data labels
To show/hide the data labels, you can click the chart icon on the right side and tick/untick the Data Labels option.

To set the position of the data labels, hover your mouse over the Data Labels option and click the arrow icon. Click More Options to open the formating panel.

From the formatting panel, you can set things like show the percentage, show the series name, show the category name, and so on.
- Editing the legend
Same as two elements above, you can also show/hide the chart legend by clicking the chart icon on the right side and tick/untick the Legend option.

To set the position, hover your mouse over the Legend option and click the arrow icon.
- Changing the slice colors
To change the colors of the slices, you can click the paintbrush icon on the right side. On the appearing dialog, click the Color tab. WPS Spreadsheets offers some color presets you can choose from.

You can also set the color of the individual slice. To do so, click three times the slice you want to change its color and open the formatting panel. Select the color you like. You can also change the fill type if you want.

Editing the data range
If you want to widen the data range or narrow it down, click the chart to turn it into an editing mode. Click Select Data on the toolbar.

Re-highlight the data range on your spreadsheet file and click the OK button.
