When working with Microsoft Outlook, you can install add-ins to add features that are not available yet by default. In Microsoft Outlook (and other apps on the Microsoft Office package), add-ins are available in a variety of forms. You can install an add-in from a file or download one from the Microsoft AppSource.
While add-ins can enhance your experience in using Outlook, installing too many add-ins might cause your Outlook to run slower. This post will show how to uninstall add-ins in Outlook 2019.
How to uninstall Outlook 2019 add-ins
As mentioned above, Outlook add-ins are available in a variety of forms. You can install an add-in from a file or download one from the Microsoft AppSource. Installing an add-in from the Microsoft AppSource is safer as all add-ins have been verified by Microsoft. Outlook itself also comes with several default add-ins.
To uninstall an Outlook add-in, you can go to the File menu and select Options.
On the Options window, click the Add-ins tab on the left panel followed by the Go button.
Select an add-in you want to uninstall and click the Remove button.
How to uninstall Outlook add-ins installed from Microsoft AppSource
The steps above don’t apply if the add-in you want to remove was installed via the Microsoft AppSource. When you install an Outlook add-in by clicking Get Add-ins on the toolbar, your add-in will be downloaded from the Microsoft AppSource.
To uninstall an add-in you installed from the Microsoft AppSource, you can click the File menu and click Manage Add-ins.
You will be directed to the web version of Outlook to manage the add-ins. Select an add-in you want to uninstall and click the minus icon above the add-ins list.
Not all add-ins can be removed. Default add-ins such as Bing Maps and My Templates cannot be removed, but you can disable them by unchecking the add-ins.
