There are lots of ways to customize the appearance of Windows 10 to make it look more personal. One of which, you can change the color of the taskbar with your favorite one. On Windows 10, you can personalize the appearance from the Personalize menu on the Settings window. Unfortunately, there is no specific option to change the taskbar color. On Windows 10, you can only change the color of a group of elements. In this case, taskbar, start menu, and action center are grouped in the same element. So, if you change the color of one of these elements, the change will also be applied to other elements.
For instance, if you change the color of the taskbar, the color change will also be applied to action center and start menu. If you really want to change the color of the taskbar only, you can make a little modification on the Registry.
Follow the steps below to change the color of the taskbar on Windows 10.
First, open the Settings window by clicking the gear icon on the start menu. Once it opens, click the Personalize menu.
Click the Colors tab on the left panel, select a color you like and tick the Start, taskbar, and action center option.
As we mentioned above, the color you selected will be applied to the start menu, taskbar, and action center. To apply it to the taskbar only, you need to edit the Registry. So, open Registry and search for the ColorPrevalence key via the following path.
Double-click the ColorPrevalence key and change the value to 2. Click the OK button to apply the change.
If you never edited Registry yet before and afraid that changing the value of a key will harm your computer, you can backup your Registry first before making a modification.
