With so many major pages existing in your blog, including category, tags and many more, you may want to display a sticky note to one of them. Is it possible for you to add a sticky note in a category? That’s the minus point of the WordPress built-in Sticky feature. You can only add a sticky post on the front page of your blog.

Don’t worry, this article will show you how to add a sticky note in a WordPress category.

Step one: Install the Category Sticky Post plugin

WordPress is basically has a built-in feature to allow you add a sticky post. However, this feature only apply for home page. So, if you want to add a sticky post in a specific WordPress category you have to go further by installing additional plugin.

This plugin is really easy to use. No additional settings required at all.

  • Login to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins –> Add New. Search for “Category Sticky Post” plugin from the search bar and hit the Install Now button. Don’t forget to activate it.

Step two: Choose an article that you want make it sticky

  • You can either choose an existing article and edit it or create a new one. On the right side of WordPress editor you will see a new option called Category Sticky.

  • Simply choose a category where you want your article to be displayed as a sticky note and publish/update your article.
  • Now please go to the category you’ve defined and you should see your article pinned at the top of it.
