5 Elementor Add-ons to Create a Beautiful Menu

Do you use Elementor on your WordPress site? If yes, you must already know that you can create a custom header on your WordPress site — without coding — with Elementor’s theme builder feature. You can add any element to your custom header, including a navigation menu. Elementor comes with a Nav Menu widget that you can use to add a navigation menu to your custom header.

While the Nav Menu widget is great to create a beautiful menu without dealing with CSS or HTML, it has some restrictions. One of which, it has no capability to create a mega menu or off-canvas menu. To create a mega menu or other menu types that cannot be handled by the Nav Menu widget, you can use an add-on.

Here are some of the best Elementor add-ons that you can use to create a mega menu, off-canvas menu, and other types of beautiful menus on your WordPress site.

1. JetMenu

JetMenu is the Elementor add-on we highly recommend if you want to create an advanced menu like a mega menu or an off-canvas menu. This add-on covers the inability of the Elementor’s Nav Menu widget to create a mega menu. JetMenu allows you to create either a vertical or horizontal mega menu. When creating a mega menu using this add-on, you can edit the content of your mega menu using the Elementor editor. Therefore, you can add any element (widget) you want. JetMenu comes with three menu widgets:

  • Mega Menu
  • Vertical Mega Menu
  • Hamburger Menu

You can use the Hamburger Menu widget if you want to create an off-canvas menu with JetMenu. You can use JetMenu on both Elementor Free and Elementor Pro. However, you will need an additional add-on that has the capability to create a custom header if you use it on Elementor Free since Elementor Free has no feature to create a custom header (read the differences between Elementor Free vs Elementor Pro). JetMenu itself is a premium Elementor add-on. You need to spend $24 per year to use it.

2. Essential Addons

Essential Addons has no capability to create a mega menu or off-canvas menu like JetMenu. But you can also use it to create a beautiful menu on your WordPress. Essential Addons itself is one of the most most popular Elementor add-ons. It is available as a free add-on with the free version is available on the WordPress plugin directory. There are over 60 widgets offered by Essential Addons in total, including the Advanced Menu widget that you can use to create a navigation menu. You can use the Essential Addons’ Advanced Menu widget as the alternative of Elementor’s native Nav Menu widget just in case something goes wrong with it.

The Essential Addons’ Advanced Menu widget allows you to create either a vertical or horizontal menu. To save you time in styling up the menu, there are 7 style presets you can choose from.

3. The Plus Addons

Want to create a mega menu on your Elementor-powered website? The Plus Addons is another add-on that you can use to do so apart from JetMenu. This add-on, just like JetMenu, allows you to create an advanced menu where you can add content to the menu. From blog posts, WooCommerce products, a contact form, and so on. You can create whether a vertical mega menu or horizontal mega menu with this add-on. In addition to creating a mega menu, you can also use The Plus Addons to create a simple navigation menu.

4. Ultimate Addons

Whether you want to create a mega menu, off-canvas menu, or a simple menu, Ultimate Addons can help you to do so. This add-on comes with widgets that you can use to create any type of menu on your website. You can create a mega menu if you want to display content like WooCommerce products, featured blog posts, and so on. Two widgets that you can use to create a menu are:

  • Navigation Menu
  • Off-Canvas

You can use the Navigation Menu to create a mega menu. There are 4 menu styles you can create with this widget: horizontal, vertical, expanded, fly-out. When creating a navigation menu using this widget, you can customize the mobile menu to make your menu uncluttered on the mobile device. The Off-Canvas widget — just like the name suggests — is designed specifically to create an off-canvas menu. When creating an off-canvas menu using this widget, you can set the off-canvas position (left or right). You can also add content if you want.

5. Unlimited Elements

Unlimited Elements is another Elementor add-on that you can use as an alternative to Elementor’s native Nav Menu widget. Although this add-on has no capability to create a mega menu, it allows you to create some menu styles, including an off-canvas menu and a full-screen menu. When creating an off-canvas menu using Unlimited Elements, there is an option to add content to the menu via an Elementor template, just like when you are creating an off-canvas menu using JetMenu.
