This article will guide you how to install Google Analytics to your WordPress manually, instead of using plugin. I assume that you already have a Google account. If you don’t, you can create it first
- Open your browser and go to http://google.com/analytics. Click on the “SIGN IN” button on the top right corner and choose “Google Analytics”
- On the new page, click on the “Sign up” button
- You will be asked for some parameters. Fill all the fields. Once you done, scroll down the page and press the “Get Tracking ID” button to get the tracking ID. Copy the code
- Login to your WordPress dashboard and head to “Appearance –> Editor”. Choose Theme Footer (footer.php) on right side bar. Paste your Google Analytics tracking ID code right above the body tag. Press “Update File” button
