WordPress is the most used Content Management System. From personal blog to multi-author sites are built using WordPress. It’s easy to use with WYSIWYG editor
If you want to run a multi-author site but have no programming skill and lazy enough to pay a programmer, you can trust WordPress. Once WordPress is installed, you can login to dashboard and start creating more users to get involved. You can even limit your author access to categories in WordPress so that they can focus on a specific category you have set
To avoid users accessing a specific category in WordPress, you can use free plugin called Restrict Author Posting. Follow the step below to do that
- Login to WordPress dashboard and head to Plugins –> Add New. Search for the “Restrict Author Posting” plugin and install it. Once installed, activate the plugin by clicking “Activate Plugin”
- Head to User –> All Users. Select a user you want to limit and click Edit
- Scroll down to the “Restrict the categories in which this user can post to” section. Mark the categories that you want to limit. In order to avoid limited users accessing medias from other users you can also check the “Restrict using his/her own file in Media” option.
- Once you are done, scroll down to the bottom and click Update User button
